the rise of reddit in pr strategy: credibility over manipulation

reddit mentions are popping up more in briefs lately. brands care now about how they show up in ai and lms.

the thing is, you can’t really “hack” reddit. the best results come from being genuinely useful to the community, not self-promotional. mods are sharp, and anything that feels forced usually gets downvoted or deleted.

what actually works:

• collaborate with redditors or experts who already have street cred in the relevant subs

• only join discussions if you’ve got something real to add (data, insights, personal experience)

• monitor conversations with tools like alertmouse to see what people are asking before you jump in

• make content worth sharing — news, insights, trend reports — stuff users actually post themselves

so for us at croissance, it’s all about earning the mention, not chasing it.

pr friends, curious: are your clients asking for reddit coverage more? in-house marketers, are you factoring reddit into your pr plans?

p.s. yes, gifs are annoying. yes, we love them anyway.
